Suits USA, Inc. was created by a young woman, Laura Moore, who grew up in Washington, D.C. and came to Duke University in Durham, NC for her education. After leaving Duke she contemplated becoming a lawyer or doctor but took some timeout from her education.

Laura had several talents. She was a wonderful seamstress and also, as a hobby, had been racing her own Formula car for years. During those racing years she had a problem finding drivers’ suits that fit well so she began making her own. After a lot of research she realized she needed protective fabric & decided DuPont Nomex, IIIA was the answer.

Many of the local racers in NC began coming to Laura for their driver suits and in 1993 she created Suits USA, Inc., a company that manufactured custom uniforms for rescue crews & racers. This evolved into a very successful small business whose customer base is now mainly helicopter EMS & rescue crews which are located all over the USA.
